The Derrière Garde visited Australia for three weeks in April-May 2006, making his first trip down under to assess the CYA needs of the Aussies, as they call themselves. His accomplice, Pink Haitun, joined him in Oz (as the Aussies refer affectionately to their country), where they performed various public and private rituals together and separately. Intending this purely as a scouting expedition, The Derrière Garde traveled incognito and in mufti for the most part, but ran some test patrols to suss out the lay of the land; see the documentation below. A summary of his report on the Aussie at-risk situation appears at the bottom of this page.

The Derrière Garde found the Aussies a delightful people, and Oz a wonderful country. But their laid-back lifestyle leaves a lot of behinds in jeopardy. The Derrière Garde anticipates a return expedition within the next few years, with a carefully planned public program of basic protective advice. Meanwhile: G'day, mates, and CYA. |
