Villa Florentine is home base for The Nearby Café and its executive director, A. D. Coleman, and also a space in which al fresco concerts, poetry readings, spoken-word performances, writing workshops, and other events occur.

Its upcoming projects include the inauguration of a small-press imprint, and streaming audio and video of its summertime Garden Variety Poetry Series of readings. Meanwhile, we present an archive of Coleman's poetry, fiction, visual and performance art, information about this (almost) historic structure, and more -- including documentation of the activities of The Derrière Garde and his mysterious accomplice, Pink Haitun.
