Dedicated to the
preservation and presentation of lost
and discarded works of visual art, the
Nearby Café's virtual "museum
without walls," the Museum of
Find Arts, proudly presents a variety
of wondrous artifacts -- sculptures,
paintings, drawings, and more -- from
its Permanent Collection.
First conceived
in 1982, the Museum of Find Arts
began its life as an informal
accumulation of artifacts retrieved
from oblivion. It opened its virtual
doors online in 1998.
Selections on
view include its most recent mixed-media
acquisition, the "Bondage Fetish
Box," an eerie, unnerving wooden
container hiding an elaborate, symbolically
charged assemblage.
