Nancy Brokaw (1947-)


Nancy Brokaw, writer and editor, currently serves as Associate Director of Communications of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Former senior editor of The Photo Review, she currently serves as a contributing editor for that publication.

Brokaw earned a bachelor's degree in English from Brown University and an MFA in photography from the University of Delaware. She is currently studying the history of art, architecture and photography in the master's program at Penn. She has exhibited her photographic work at the Delaware Art Museum, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Abington Art Center, and other venues, and taught photography at the University of Delaware and Abington Art Center. Brokaw served as director of Level 3 Photography Gallery in Philadelphia from 1988 to 1992.

Brokaw produces critical and historical texts on photography, and also writes about art, literature, travel, and other topics. She is currently collaborating with photographer David H. Wells on a book about Philadelphia's 30th Street Station.
